Of all the money that ever I had I spent it in good company And all the harm I've ever done Alas it was to none but me And all I've done for want of wit To memory now I can't recall So fill to me the parting glass Good night and joy be to you all So fill to me the parting glass And drink a health whatever befall, And gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Of all the comrades that ever I had They're sorry for my going away And all the sweethearts that ever I had They'd wish me one more day to stay But since it fell unto my lot That I should rise and you should not I gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all A man may drink and not be drunk A man may fight and not be slain A man may court a pretty girl And perhaps be welcomed back again But since it has so ought to be By a time to rise and a time to fall Come fill to me the parting glass Good night and joy be with you all

about

In the spirit of honesty and transparency, which I personally find to be the most desirable quality in any music, all of these tracks of fiddle music in the Scottish style were recorded using my phone's microphone in a single sitting, each in one take. "It seemed like a decent idea at the time."

I'd like to think of this approach as a quiet revolt to the concept of polishing a slick commercial product of a music album as opposed to creating something personal and honest, openly played from the heart.

So, this is my heart and soul in one take. Feel free to take it or leave it. I don't care. I play for my own spiritual amusement and expression.
