My brother Mitchell Klingler was born August 16th, 1988 (was expected on 8/8/88, but was born 8 days late). I was born in 1992, and in 1996 he convinced me to play video games with him. Throughout our lives, we bonded through games and music. While I first thought of suicidality as my problem, that ended up being how we lost Mitchell.
My brother died by suicide on February 13th, 2016. It's still the hardest thing I've ever had to try to cope with, and every day I have a re-realization when I get up in the morning that he's gone. Upon his death I felt tremendous devastation, and also pressure to try to push for not only my own legacy anymore but also my brother's.
While I've written more laments than any other tune type, it took several months before this tune came to me. When it did come, it was all at once when I woke up one morning in June 2016.
"I'll always miss you, Mitchell. Looking up to you, brother."
